Too talented BUT too busy

Over the past some time I've been noticing the use of some common observations, comments, cliches or whatever you call them, from almost everyone and that too pretty regularly. So decided to highlight just two of those.

How often have you heard this - I know this boy has got real talent...he just needs an opportunity to deliver! OR This man is laden with potential...he just needs a performance to showcase his abilities!
Talent I believe is the most over-rated virtue. It's no use sitting over a gold mine all your life-time and still struggling to make both your ends meet. Glimpses of talent excite but what really shifts you to that higher trajectory is the consistency. Consistency in terms of the efforts you put-in and the results you deliver. Ever wondered why we have so many talented people but so few achievers!

You must also have come across the following lines - on a much regular basis these days - I'm busy right now...will get back to you soon!
I understand life has become very fast paced now, and it takes lots of time and energy to match its pace. But what I fail to completely understand is, how can anyone pretend to be busy day after day and week after week that every call, every attempt to contact meets with the same response : Very busy right now, will get back soon!
Is this so called busyness actually there; or is it just a deceptive perception. Our earlier generations also used to work pretty hard and have achieved such envious successes , but I could not really recall having heard anything of this sort of busyness from any of them on such a regular basis.

What also really irritates me is that - the "soon" in the message never arrives soon! People have forgotten the basics tenets of any relationship - be it personal or professional - "If you are promising somebody something, then plz for others' sake if not yours', fulfill it."
Sincerely speaking I hate two traits in people - First, Promising something that you know you can never deliver and Second Un-punctuality - second is somewhat derived from the first itself.

One more thing that I never appreciate is that - if you were so engrossed in some work or so busy in something - WTF made you answer that phone call - where without even listening to the caller you just said - I'm very busy rt now! and disconnected -or WTF made you log-in to your msngr. Do you just wanna spread the word - look baby! I'm too occupied with work...I've reached such a high position in an organization and have become so big a person who never gets time. Or Are you just too busy for some people, not for others? If you are, then please kindly make it very clear to that set of people as well...don't keep them illusioned.

If I sounded like someone who don't understand the criticality of the work that someone might be doing and the really busy situation a person might be in, then plz let me clarify my point. I don't say, you can never be busy with work or occupied with something important. I am just trying to say that if you are, then plz be passionate about whatever you are doing, cut-yourself-off for that time from the world, finish off that critical task and then re-connect again...But plz never just try to pretend to be busy every minute 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
If you still believe you are so much busy, believe me you are illusioned. You are actually wasting your time. Neither are you passionate about your work, neither about your life, nor about anything else.

And if you are not passionate about anything in your life, then if I may suggest -don't over-rate your talent. Achievements are for passionate, aggressive yet humble people only!
